The Greening of America, Canada and Mexico
By
Nancy Pelosi
Ms. Pelosi sent shivers through Canada's oil patch by announcing that the United States must stop importing foreign oil and, especially, the "dirty oil", from Canada, which pollutes massive amounts of fresh water in its extraction process.
According to Graham Saul, executive director of Climate Action Network Canada, an umbrella organization for environmental, church and labour groups. “She (Ms. Pelosi) spoke very eloquently about the moral imperative for action on climate change in terms of how we owe it to future generations, and she spoke clearly about God’s creation and the need to respect and honour that.”
Ms. Pelosi also reached out to Canada's native communities to help preserve Canada's "clean water resources" at a time when Canada's native and rural communities are re-assessing their relationship with Canada's political and economic establishment that has consistently attacked rural values and lyfestyles.
Ms. Pelosi also represents the State of Calaifornia, a bone dry community with a larger population and economy than all of Canada, where, four decades ago, visionary leaders developed plans to divert Canadian rivers southwards, as part of a grand humanitarian project called the North American Power and Water Alliance, (NAWAPA).
The NAWAPA, that would have provided huge low cost, clean energy and water resources to North America, has long been opposed by the greed driven oil and natural gas dinosaurs, the "beasts of the west", located in Alberta and their political donkeys in Edmonton and Ottawa.
