Two Politicians In Peace River Area

The Water War Crimes
On June 11, 2010, Peace River Area provincial politician, Blair Lekstrom, announced he would be quitting his position as a member of the cabinet of Premier Gordon Campbell and leaving the ruling Liberal party caucus.
On July 21, 2010, Peace River Area federal politician, Jay Hill, a member of Prime Minister Harper's ruling Conservative Party, announced he would not run on the next federal election and that he would be leaving politics.
The events which are about to unfold in Peace River are monumental and will be difficult to defend to the local population who will see a large reservoir created over once beautiful ranch-land. The projects are necessary both to the Canadian national interest and the long terms survival of the American economy.
Immediately prior to Mr. Lekstrom's resignation, Premier Campbell and his government have agreed to fat track the construction of the Site C Dam. Immediately afterwards, Premier Campbell and the Western Premiers agreed to co-ordinate water export policy.
In Ottawa, Prime Minister Stephen Harper's government have been party to complex negotiation with the American administration and the locals in Peace River area will be demanding a full explanation.
In addition, the Peace River area is known for violent protests and bombings have been used as a form of sabotage to stop oil anbd gas projects the local inhabitants were opposed to.
Both politicians realize the political consequences of what is underway and, understandably, have decided to let others take the heat.
