Herman Van Ommen first came to the attention of astute observers of the legal and judicial mafia in British Columbia as a result of his role as agent of the Law Society of British Columbia in the destruction of the career of British Columbia lawyer Karl Eisbrenner who was blowing the whistle on alleged corruption related colleagues of Premier Gordon Campbell. Mr. Van Ommen used a fraudulent psychiatric report by a Vancouver area psychiatrist, Dr. Jeanette Smith, who labelled Mr. Eisbrenner "delusional" and said his "delusion" was specific to the law case he was working on that involved a former member of Gordon Campbell's cabinet but Dr. Smith never interviewed a single witness and never read any of the evidence so she could not have known Mr. Eisbrenner's belief was a "delusion" or a "rational opinion" - based in facts. Until his death, Mr. Eisbrenner harboured no animosity towards Dr. Smith because he knew she was acting under instruction and was probably threatened or otherwise coerced into giving a false opinion.
Mr. Eisbrenner was a brilliant lawyer. He held a Masters Degree in Theology and Philosophy from Regents College at Oxford University, in England, and a law degree from the University of Alberta. Having done no wrong and without any complaint by the public, Mr. Eisbrenner was disbarred, by fraud, and died a broken man a few years later.

Investigations into the background of Herman Van Ommen show that he and his wife with the law firm of Harper Grey Easton in Vancouver played a role in the Dr. Kuntz Affair which was a large scale medical legal insurance fraud carried out by some of Canada's leading law firms through the legal and judicial crucifixion of one of Canada's leading surgeons who pioneered disk replacement surgery but who was destroyed by a combination of the forces of greed and envy.

Herman Van Ommen also played a role as agent of the Law Society of British Columbia in the attempted destruction of the career of a British Columbia lawyer< Mr. Carten, who had been acting for Sun Belt Water Inc. and exposing corruption inside the legal appartus of the Canadian state including its state appointed and controlled judiciary.
It was Mr. Van Ommen who hired Vancouver based psychiatrist, Dr. Stephen Kline, and paid Dr. Kline to prepare a medical legal letter attacking the mental health of Sun Belt Water Inc.'s Canadian lawyer, Mr. Carten, that was a clear violation of customary medical ethics and fundamental human rights.
The Kline letter was designed to entrap Mr. Carten in a process characteristic of totalitarian states where psychiatry is used to discredit credible opinions that expose serious corruption inside the state. It is for reasons like this that US Commentators such as Bill O'Reilly on Fox News call Canada - Canuckistan.
